IVA School Online provides students the opportunity to attain an excellent education through an online platform.

Their offering is holistic, more efficient and student productivity levels are heightened. Coupled with excellent educators, IVA wanted to make sure that they were engaging the students in ways that are current and meaningful to them. They created a 3D virtual platform where all teachers and students are avatars in a virtual world where teaching and learning takes place.

Their main purpose is to demonstrate that education outcomes and goals can be achieved at very high levels without the exorbitant fees that parents are having to pay for a premium education. IVA’s fees are a fraction of some of the top schools and yet their teachers are amongst the best in the country and their offering goes beyond teaching and learning of subjects making it holistic and meaningful.

In South Africa, IVA Global Online school hopes to make difference in the lives of thousands of children in 3 to 5 years’ time. IVA Global hopes to be operating in other Southern African countries as well as the UK globally.

About the owner

Joao (John) Luis always knew he wanted to be in education. Over the years he has overseen the academic strategy and vision across approximately 120 schools in South Africa, Botswana and Kenya. He has also worked as the Senior Deputy Head and Academic Director at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy For Girls and this highlighted the desperate plea of children in South Africa for an education which provided a pathway to a better future and he believed he could make a difference.
