About El Burro Mercado
The El Burro restaurant was launched in 2010 to offer South Africans an Authentic and wholesome Mexican dining experience. In 2018, they decided to broaden their offering so that people at home could make their own creations with great quality wholesome ingredients that are natural and preservative free, and thus El Burro Mercado (mercado means market) was launched.
El Burro Mercado’s in an online shop with an aim to educate and share authentic Mexican experiences and products to the South African market and to one day become a national brand available in stores nationwide.
About the owners
Sascha has been involved in the restaurant industry for over 20 years and was one of the founders of Royale Eatery, Neighbourhood, Assembly and El burro. She fell in love with the cuisine while on vacation and surfing in Mexico and decided to bring the taste of Mexico home to South Africa.
