The Client

December normally brings along the warmer weather and holiday breaks but for many others it’s known as wedding season.

Netflix took full advantage of this to promote the home-made series “How to ruin christmas: The Wedding” and capture SA wedding season and all it’s cultural quirks during the festive period.

The Campaign

The series plot is based around the “Christmas” period and the campaign was due to flight from 16 December 2020 until 15 January 2021 making the Airport Approach Road in Cape Town the perfect location, targeting all people going and coming from CTIA during the festive season.

The highly visible large façade allows for imposing customized creative and serves over 10m impressions per month. It is the biggest building wrap in Cape Town, and it also has an excellent run-up distance, making the Netflix – How to ruin Christmas: The Wedding” humorous artwork entertaining for all to see.

The Result

The show aired on Netflix in 190 countries worldwide and made it to the top 10 must watch shows on Netflix South Africa. In the spirit of giving and joy, South African’s gave a jolly thumbs-up to the show.
